Our Past
& Our Present
BSLC was organized by John Jackson at the request of a few students at Minneapolis Edison High School in 2013.
They wanted a safe space to discuss issues revenant to the Black experience and organize activities that would draw them closer together as people of the African Diaspora.
Today, BSLC has expanded to Omaha, NE, boasting over 300 members. Our chapters can be found in 4 school districts and 10 schools.
